Olde English Babydoll Southdown sheep are a miniature variety. They were originally bred to graze in orchards. They were a dual use breed for fiber and meat. They almost vanished after falling out of fashion when refrigeration became common and larger cuts of meat were preferred. They are not in danger of being eaten at Spinning Dreams Farm.

Today they are prized for their foraging abilities, good personalities and cute appearance.

Their fiber is very springy, wears well and is great for projects that require those characteristics such as socks.

Fleeces are $14 per pound
Stormy is the friendliest sheep in our flock. He loves to have his chin scratched and will follow us around the field. He is a black sheep but the sun turns the outside ends of his fiber a rich chocolate brown.
Henry the Eighth of a Sheep is very quick to dash out of his pen in the morning. His favorite food is cherry tomatoes. As a lamb he used to jump chest high to escape when he got nervous. He has a longer staple than usual for a babydoll. Sold
Tinkerbell, Tess and Mary Lou also have fleeces available.  Please contact us with questions or to reserve a fleece.
